    ITS World Congress 2021

    Exhibits, Demonstrations and Lectures

From October 11 to 15, 2021, the global transportation and mobility community will be in Hamburg for this year's ITS World Congress. Around 15,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the event. We will be there and present numerous of our projects and newly developed, innovative technologies of the Fraunhofer CML. On the exhibition grounds, we are present at the joint booth of the Fraunhofer institutions (Hall B7, Booth 330). We will also be present at the joint booth of the scientific institutions of the Ministry of Science, Research, Equality and Districts of the City of Hamburg (Hall B4, Booth 310). In addition, we will be presenting some of our new developments in the maritime sector at homePORT opposite Landungsbrücken, the HPA's real laboratory and innovation port in the Port of Hamburg. The final demonstration of the RoboVaaS project will take place here on 13.10.21 (RoboVaaS is part of the Logistics Experience-Tour). With our COOKIE project, we offer a contemporary solution: At the HHLA - Gateway Hamburg booth (Hall B4, Booth 230), we will present how the condition of containers is checked using cameras, scanners and AI-supported image recognition. The software for image-based damage detection of empty containers also digitizes and optimizes tank container washing systems.

Container services Optimized through Artificial Intelligence

At the booth of HHLA - Gateway Hamburg, the CML will present its COOKIE project: Here, the condition of containers is examined using cameras, scanners and AI-supported image recognition. The software for image-based damage detection of empty containers also digitizes and optimizes tank container washing systems.

    Live-Demonstration of Robotic Services

In the RoboVaaS project, we developed a range of robotic services, conducted by SeaLion, to show the potential of our autonomous research vessel. SeaLion demonstrates in the homePORT, opposite the Landungsbrücken, e.g. underwater quay wall instructions and anti grounding detection.

Port Model - Mapping Digital Port Processes

The Fraunhofer CML's port model maps digital control processes - and vice versa, real processes are digitally optimized. How this works and what the CML focuses on in this research area can be experienced and tried out by visitors to the ITS.

Interactive Planning and Simulation in Ports and Terminals

On a planning table, Fraunhofer CML shows a simulation model for the visualization of traffic in the port and on terminals. With the help of simulation software, traffic flow simulation can be observed live on the ITS.

SeaLion - Unmanned Modular Test Platform for Robotic Services

At the Fraunhofer CML, autonomous research vessels are being built and deployed for the exploration of underwater landscapes. Camera systems and various sensors create images of riverbeds and seabeds, ship hulls or quay walls through the modular design of the carrier system in conjunction with an underwater robot.
