Some problems require pre-competitive research. In such cases, it makes sense to develop the solution together with several partners with the help of public funding. Our clients then have access to the entire environment of the Fraunhofer Institutes. External partners and other companies can also be brought in.
Characteristics of funded research projects
- Development of new solutions within a national or international research consortium
- Joint application and implementation: time horizon of one to several years
- Publication obligations and general availability of research results (exceptions: IPR)

- Contact and description of ideas
- Identification of potential funding programs and project partners
- Formation of project consortium and draft project outline
- Participation in call for proposals, single or multi-stage procedure
- Project implementation
