Logistics Day

Offshore wind energy will continue to be expanded off the German coasts in the coming years. Efficient transshipment facilities on land and sophisticated logistics concepts are required in order to supply the construction sites at sea with their special requirements on time.
The Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services CML and the Institute for Maritime Logistics MLS at the Technical University of Hamburg are addressing this issue and have created a technological environment for virtual port and terminal planning. Through the combination of intuitive layout planning and direct 3D visualisation, initial planning results can be achieved in the shortest possible time, paving the way for diverse decisions:
How can handling and warehouse processes be optimally designed? Where can routes be saved? Which overall concept is the best alternative?
Trade visitors and the interested public are cordially invited to find out more about solutions to these and other questions on Logistics Day (11 April 2019). In addition to a brief introduction to virtual tools, the programme also includes a chance to try out the planning process at the 3D planning table.

It addresses actors from all areas: Industry and technology, digital and creative industries, natural sciences, economics and the humanities.

HHIS is the annual meeting place for the innovation scene in the Hamburg metropolitan region, where all Fraunhofer insitutions based in Hamburg present jointly the latest research results.

transport logistic

As an international trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management, transport logistic Munich offers its visitors a complete overview of the entire process chain of the transport and logistics industry. More and more German and international exhibitors are presenting their innovative products and services at the fair.

Fraunhofer CML will present the project ISI-Plan: The aim is to directly link the static layout planning of a container terminal, for example, with the transshipment and transport processes running on it, in order to be able to considerably reduce the planning effort. Transport logistic will take place on 4 days from Tuesday, 04 June to Friday, 07 June 2019 in Munich.
