Presence at the stand of the German Maritime Centre DMZ
At the DMZ stand, Fraunhofer CML will be presenting solutions and developments in the field of autonomous maritime technologies, the use of quantum computing for maritime problems, and ways to improve cybersecurity on the ship's bridge from April 20 to 24, 2026. Fraunhofer CML will also be represented in a panel discussion and with a keynote speech in the accompanying conference program.
Visit us at the Hamburg Port Anniversary!
Fraunhofer CML will participates in the Hamburg Port Anniversary for the first time with its research vessel VEKTOR. Christened by Hamburg Senator Dr. Leonhard, the former police patrol boat was converted into a state-of-the-art maritime research platform by Fraunhofer CML employees over the course of last year. In 2026, the VEKTOR takes part in the arrival and departure parade. In addition, Fraunhofer CML scientists will be on board at the berth in Niederhafen to provide information about current research projects and new developments.
Mobile robotics exhibition at the terminal
At this year's TOC Europe from May 19 to 21, 2026, in Hamburg, Fraunhofer CML will be showcasing mobile robotics solutions for ports and terminals at booth G16. We will also be demonstrating how computer vision supports crane rope inspection.

Meet the Fraunhofer institutions in Hamburg!
Four Fraunhofer institutions in Hamburg exhibit together at the Hamburg Innovation Summit. Fraunhofer CML, IAP, IAPT, and ITMP will showcase exciting solutions from the HHIS's key areas of focus, including AI & data science, climate & energy, advanced materials, and health. A joint lecture program entitled “Living Sustainability: Fraunhofer Institutes Deliver Practical Success Stories” (German language) presents innovative developments for Hamburg's economy. We look forward to seeing you there! As in the previous year, participation in HHIS 2026 is free of charge for visitors.
We will be exhibiting at SMM again from September 1 to 4, 2026. Five Fraunhofer Institutes present innovative solutions for the maritime industry at the Fraunhofer joint booth in Hall B6. Fraunhofer CML focuses on solutions for shipping automation and increased maritime safety, among other topics.

From September 2 to 3, 2026, Fraunhofer CML exhibits at the new all about ports conference, which takes place parallel to SMM at the CCH in Hamburg. The all about ports event is intended to be a combination of a specialist conference and exhibition, showcasing all structures and processes in the port for the first time. Fraunhofer CML exhibits its pin-handling robot for the automation of container transshipment by rail and also gives presentations on new developments as part of the lecture program.
