Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services
The Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Smart Shipping at Novia University of Applied Sciences, FIP-S2@Novia for short, was based in Turku, Finland, at Aboa Mare, the university's maritime campus, from June 2021 to September 2024. The focus was on research and product development for the Finnish maritime industry in the field of innovative training concepts, simulation and automation.
Fraunhofer innovation platforms are science spaces set up abroad together with local partners based on the Fraunhofer model. They are established with university partners and promote the exchange of know-how and technology transfer from science to practice. To this end, they work closely with local industry and thus enable the promotion of applied and demand-oriented research and development.
