Fraunhofer CML and Indian Maritime University Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services CML has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Maritime University (IMU), establishing a strategic partnership to advance maritime education and research. The collaboration focuses on developing maritime simulator networks, AR/VR-based training solutions, situational awareness assessment systems, and ship-to-shore communication technologies. Through this partnership, Fraunhofer CML will work closely with IMU to create integrated training solutions utilizing existing simulator infrastructure and facilitate access to international funding opportunities, including the Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC). This partnership marks an important step in strengthening Indo-German cooperation in maritime innovation and technology development.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carlos Jahn is a member of the Kuratorium (Board of Trustees) of the Logistics Initiative Hamburg Management GmbH. With more than 550 member companies and institutions from the Hamburg metropolitan region and beyond, this public-private partnership is the largest regional logistics network in the industry in Europe. This network is made up of logistics service providers, industry & trade, research & development, start-ups, numerous public institutions and industry-related companies.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carlos Jahn is the chairman of the German Society for Positioning and Navigation DGON e.V. DGON was founded in 1951 and manages an international network of members. The purpose of the society is to promote science and research, technology and application of positioning and navigation and thus to contribute to the safety, efficiency and economy of shipping, aviation, space travel and land transport. Experts and interested parties from authorities, science, industry and users work together to achieve this goal. Every year DGON organizes conferences of national and international importance.

TUHH - Maritime Logistics

In the field of research, the CML cooperates closely with the Institute of Maritime Logistics (MLS) at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). The MLS is a teaching and research oriented institution in the field of processes, systems, technologies and organisation in maritime logistics.
