Current Challenges
Companies that manufacture and use vehicles, handling technology and assistance systems are currently faced with the task of finding solutions for more efficient processes in the field of automated goods handling and avoiding CO2 emissions. In addition to improved economic efficiency, the safety of port processes is also a focus of consideration. At the same time, there are fewer and fewer skilled workers on the labor market.
Why CML?
The Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services CML develops innovative solutions for the maritime sector and the associated supply chain. Our interdisciplinary teams use their scientific expertise and extensive project experience to design innovative solutions for technology users, suppliers and service providers. Our employees have access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure and extensive tools for planning, simulation and optimization. In the new building of the Fraunhofer CML, a versatile laboratory is available on an area of approx. 250 square meters with

- a motion capture system for precise object location and a control center system for data analysis
